A long travel kit widens the front track and lengthens the arms so the wheel can move further before anything binds, which is what lets a truck carry speed over rough ground. This is a fabrication job rather than a bolt on: the kit includes weld in frame stiffeners because the standard frame was not designed for the loads. Budget for an alignment and for wider front bodywork.
